Starting and stopping data collectors
How you start and stop the Data Collector depends on your operating system. Also, the location of the start and stop script/service depends on your backup solution. For most backup solutions, the Data Collector does not run on the backup server ( server).
To start the Data Collector on Windows
- Start the following services using the Windows Services Control panel:
APTARE Agent
APTARE WMIServer
To stop the Data Collector on Windows
- Stop the following services using the Windows Services Control panel:
APTARE Agent
APTARE WMIServer
To start Data Collector on Linux
- As user root, run the start or restart command:
# cd /etc/init.d # ./aptare_agent status # ./aptare_agent start|restart
To stop Data Collector on Linux
- As user root, run the stop command:
# cd /etc/init.d # ./aptare_agent status # ./aptare_agent stop
