CloudPoint on-host agent renewal may fail after RHEL migration with NetBackup 10.0.0.1 upgrade
After performing a migration of Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) 7 to RHEL 8 with the NetBackup upgrade from version 9.1.0.1 to 10.0.0.1 with a new RHEL 8 host, you may observe the following issues due to the change in the CloudPoint (CP) host IP or FQDN:
On-host agent renewal will fail.
CP extension will not work.
Workaround:
For configured on-host agents:
In the case of migration from RHEL 7 to RHEL 8 that involves a new VM for a CP host which is registered in NetBackup with a non-static IP address or FQDN, update the new IP address or FQDN in the
flexsnap.conf
file and renew the agent service with a fresh agent token. For extensions:
After migration is successful and the CP extension is upgraded to the latest build, renew the extension with new CP IP address.
For steps to renew the on-host agent and the CP extension, see the NetBackup CloudPoint Install and Upgrade Guide.
