Problem

When deploying NetBackup Virtual Appliance 4.1, the error “Deployed an OVF with NVRAM is not supported” appears, or you may see other errors related to NVRAM.

This error can occur if you try to deploy NetBackup Virtual Appliance 4.1 on vSphere 6.5 or a vSphere ESXi 6.5 server, even if this server is controlled by a vSphere Client with a higher version. The error also occurs on vSphere 6.7 without HTML5 support.
 

Error Message

Deployed an OVF with NVRAM is not supported.
 

Cause

Solution

Please follow the instructions in the VMware article to remove all NVRAM entries in the .ovf file.

Alternatively, you can use the ovftool command with the parameter skipManifestCheck to deploy the appliance.
