How To Create Connectors In Veritas Alta SaaS Protection
Configure Connector's General Settings
- Get Location ACLs -- Should not be enabled
- Get Item ACLs -- Should not be enabled
Configure Connector Type Specific Settings
- Root Path -- This is the location where the EML files are located. It will crawl this top-level folder and all sub-directories capturing only .eml and .msg files. It is recommended to click the 'Validate' button once the path is entered to confirm a successful connection.
- Use Sender and Recipients For ACL -- Overrides item ACLs from inheriting the parent folder ACL and instead assigns permissions based on the sender and recipient SMTP addresses. This option should be enabled.
- Limit ACEs to Domains -- Filters the ACEs applied to the email based on the semicolon-delimited list of approved domains. This option should be used so that only email addresses from the approved domains will be added to Veritas Alta SaaS Protection. This is especially important for Custodian based searching.
- Use Subject as Item Name -- When enabled, the email will be ingested using the subject of the message. When not enabled, the email will be ingested based on the actual file name. It is recommended to enable this option.
Example: if the file name is testmessage.eml, it will be ingested as that name. - Delete Empty Folders
When enabled, this option will only remove empty folders from the source once the files have been uploaded.
