Version number changes:
The 2013 R2 release of Symantec System Recovery is a major release and increases the version numbers as follows:

Summary of the high level changes with this release:
In Symantec System Recovery 2013 R2:
- System Recovery Disk (SRD) Creator Wizard has been added. (Note: The Symantec System Recovery 2013 R2 recovery disk is now created on the fly after the software is installed. Refer to the User's Guide for more details)
- Support for Windows 8.1 Update1 and Windows 2012 R2 Update has been added.
- ReFS incremental support has a been added.
- Improved support for RDX & USB media rotation.
- 4K Disk support for backup and recovery.
- Support for Microsoft Exchange 2013 with Granular Restore Option (GRO) capabilities.
- Support for Microsoft SharePoint 2013 without GRO capabilities.
- Support for VHDX in P2V operations.
- Support for VMWare ESXi 5.5 & XenServer 6.2 SP1 has been added.
- PCAnywhere support has been removed.
In Symantec System Recovery 2013 R2 - Management Solution:
- Symantec Management Platform (SMP) 7.5 support has been added.
- SRD Creator (WinPE based System Recovery media creator) for SMP has been added.
In Symantec System Recovery 2013 R2 - Linux edition:
- Support for RHEL 6.5, CentOs 6.5, CentOs 5.10 has been added.
Licensing & Availability
Symantec System Recovery (SSR) 2013 R2 is a full software release and requires a SSR 2013 R2 license key (existing SSR 2013 license keys are not compatible). SSR 2013 R2 is not available via LiveUpdate. Customers on active maintenance are eligible - and encouraged - to upgrade to SSR 2013 R2. For questions regarding active maintenance upgrade policies contact your Veritas enterprise products sales representative.
Symantec System Recovery 2013 R2 Windows Editions, and Symantec System Recovery 2013 R2 Linux Editions are available after purchase through the Veritas Entitlement Management System (See https://www.veritas.com/docs/000100418)
