Problem
Backup Exec 25 introduces a self-protect backup job that is automatically created when Backup Exec is installed/upgraded and performs a backup of the metadata on the media server. The format of the job is as follows: <media-server-name> Backup Exec Self Protect Job.
In some scenarios, the Self-Protect job fails to create.
Application Event Log reports: Failed to create a self-protect backup job. After the service restart is completed, Backup Exec will try to create the self-protect backup job again.
Error Message

Cause
There was an error matching the Data path, Catalog path, or job log path leading to self-protect job not getting created.
Solution
This issue is resolved with Backup Exec 25.0 Hotfix 924991
Workaround:
The Self-Protect job is created by default in Backup Exec 25 but in this case, the job does not get created due to the error mentioned in the cause section.
A backup job protecting the Backup Exec Data, catalogs and Job Logs folder can be created manually.
